Our developers are creative: One of our engineers is a passionate musician and plays several instruments. When he bought an EWI, i.e. an Electronic Wind Instrument, he lacked a tool that would show him which fingerings would play which notes. In short: how to "translate" sheet music into simple fingering instructions.
So he quickly wrote a tool that makes this possible: a new tone can be added easily at the touch of a button. The tone itself and the octave are also very easy to enter. Changes in the fingerings compared to the previous note are shown in green and red, so that you can see at a glance which additional key should be pressed or released.
In addition, all alternative fingering combinations for playing the same note are displayed below your own composition. So you can choose the 'easiest' one. When you have put together a composition, you can easily bookmark the link (URL) because all the information is saved in the URL.
WITH AN INTERFACE, OF COURSE
Best of all: The tool can not only be used on any PC with an Internet connection, but also on the iPad, and can be connected directly to the EWI instrument via USB. In this way, melodies can be played directly via the existing MIDI interface without the need for additional tools, cables or devices.
In keeping with our company motto: Simple is simply better!
The tool with its basic functions can be accessed free of charge as open source without restrictions at: ewi.malkut.net
(For connecting via USB, Chrome should be used)
